Actilite Manuka Honey Dressing is a Non-adherent viscose net dressing coated with 99% Manuka honey and 1% Manuka oil 10 x Dressings per Box (either size)


Manuka honey brings the following properties:

  • Anti-bacterial - kills harmful bacteria
  • Eliminates odours without masking them* (*based on short term in-vitro testing)
  • Osmotic effect - harmful tissue is draw away from the wound bed
  • Maintains the ideal moist wound healing environment
  • Actilite dressings contains a combination of Manuka honey and Manuka oil. 
  • Best suited for granulating or epithelialising wounds, Actilite offers antibacterial protection whilst promoting the ideal moist wound healing environment.


Actilite is a light viscose net dressing coated with antibacterial Manuka honey & Manuka oil. The dressing is designed to protect a wound, promote healing and allow the passage of exudate. The antibacterial effect of Actilite has been enhanced by combining high grade antibacterial Manuka oil with Manuka honey. The combination of Manuka honey and Manuka oil has been demonstrated in-vitro to be effective against a number of major wound infecting organisms including MRSA, VRE and Providentia stuartii.

Non-adherent viscose net dressing coated with 99% Manuka honey and 1% Manuka oil


Remove from the outer packet, remove clear films and apply to the wound either side up. Apply a secondary dressing of choice, this can be an absorbent dressing or semi-permeable film dressing depending on the nature of the wound. We recommend Eclypse Adherent or Advazorb Border. 

Actilite can also be used under Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) or a primary layer to reduce bacterial burden.

Store at room temperature. Due to the nature of honey, it can solidify at cold temperatures become more liquid at warm temperatures. If the product has hardened,warm between hands to soften before use. If the product has become too liquid, place in a colder place such as a fridge for a few minutes.

Actilite is a light non adherent, non sticky dressing ideal for infection prevention.


Actilite contains a combination of Manuka honey and Manuka oil. Best suited for granulating or epithelialising wounds, Actilite offers antibacterial protection whilst promoting the ideal moist wound healing environment.

Suitable for all wound types where a primary layer is indicated and an antibacterial effect may be advantageous including: Cuts, abrasions, burns, surgical wounds, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers and infected wounds.


Although the honey is not absorbed into the blood stream, we advise monitoring the levels of patients with diabetes.

Do not use if allergic to bee venom. 

Discomfort can be experienced when honey is applied, depending on sensitivity of the wound it may be necessary to consider an appropriate level of analgesic. 

The initial discomfort usually subsides, however if it does continue, discontinue use and irrigate the wound with saline solution.
