What is the Provox Cleaning Brush used for?

Regular cleaning is an important part of maintaining a voice prosthesis after laryngectomy. Mucus, food particles and other debris can accumulate within the prosthesis and may interfere with airflow or contribute to leakage.

The Provox Brush is inserted into the centre of the compatible voice prosthesis and gently moved back and forth while rotating to help clean the internal lumen and valve.

Atos Medical recommends incorporating brushing into a regular voice prosthesis care routine, including cleaning in the morning, evening and after meals as appropriate.

Who is it suitable for?

The Provox Cleaning Brush is intended for laryngectomy patients using a compatible Provox voice prosthesis, as well as clinicians involved in voice prosthesis care.

It may also be used for cleaning compatible fenestration holes in a Provox LaryTube where indicated.
