3M Medipore +Pad Soft Cloth Adhesive Wound Dressing is an all-in-one sterile dressing used both as primary and secondary dressing. It consists of a non-adherent absorbent pad bonded to a larger soft cloth backing coated with a border of hypoallergenic adhesive.

How to apply Medipore Plus Pad Dressing?

Prior Application Instructions:

  • Prepare the site for catheter insertion or wound dressing in accordance with standard hospital protocol
  • Clipping off excess hair at the site may be necessary to ensure best Medipore dressing adhesion
  • Shaving is not recommended
  • Allow all prep liquids to dry completely before dressing application

Directions for Use:

  1. Open package and remove 3M Medipore +Pad Soft Cloth Adhesive Wound Dressing.
  2. Peel the paper liner from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface.
  3. Position the dressing over the wound site or the catheter insertion site and apply dressing.
  4. Smooth down the dressing edges. Seal securely around catheter or wound site. Firmly smooth adhesive border to the skin.
  5. When exudate penetrate through the soft cloth backing, change the dressing.
  6. To remove 3M Medipore Pad, gently grasp the edge and slowly peel the dressing from the skin in the direction of hair growth.

Warnings:

  • Medipore +Pad adhesive wound dressing should not be used to replace sutures or other primary wound closure methods.
  • The dressing should be changed if not intact. An intact dressing is one that has been properly applied to achieve and maintain good adhesion, at least around the total periphery of the dressing. To attain the best results, choose the Medipore dressing size such that it has a margin which adheres to dry, healthy skin around the wound site.
  • The site should be observed frequently for signs of infection. Infection may be signaled by pain, fever, swelling, redness, or an unusual odor or discharge. In such case remove the dressing and take standard precautions.

Precautions:

  • Before applying the dressing, hemostasis of the catheter site or wound should be achieved
  • The skin should be dry and free of detergent residue to ensure good adhesion
  • If tension is applied, it may result in skin trauma

  • Store 3M Medipore +Pad Soft Cloth Adhesive Wound Dressing in normal room temperature, 59 86 degrees F (15 30 degrees C)
